Cookies Policy
Last updated 16 June 2026 · Version 0.1 (draft)
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) work in much the same way. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, keep the service working, and help us understand how the site is used. This policy explains how Homecue uses them.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep the affordability check working as you move through it, to remember your progress and choices during a session, to keep the service secure, and to measure and improve how the site performs. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you or to sell your data.
3. The cookies we use
The table below describes the categories of cookie we use. Exact names and durations will be confirmed for the live site.
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Make the site work: hold your session and your progress through the check, balance load, and keep the service secure. | Always on (no consent required) |
| Functional | Remember choices you make, such as preferences entered during the check, to give you a smoother experience. | On with your consent |
| Analytics / performance | Help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Used only if you accept analytics cookies. | On with your consent |
We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by service providers we use to run the site (for example hosting or analytics providers). Where these are not strictly necessary, we will only set them with your consent. These providers process information under their own terms; we limit them to what is needed to run and improve the service.
5. Managing your cookies
When you first visit, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting cookies already stored and blocking new ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, including the affordability check, from working properly. Guidance for common browsers is available at aboutcookies.org.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time and will change the "last updated" date above. For any questions, contact privacy@homecue.co.uk. For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Notice.
