Privacy Notice
Last updated 16 June 2026 · Version 0.1 (draft)
1. Who we are
Homecue is a free online mortgage affordability check that, if you choose, introduces you to an FCA-authorised mortgage broker. Homecue is a trading style of Cestrian Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 14782311), registered office 1 Aldgate Tower, London E1 8FA.
For the personal data we collect about you through Homecue, Cestrian Digital Ltd is the data controller. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO reference ZA000000).
If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@homecue.co.uk.
2. The information we collect
We collect the following, most of which you give us directly when you use the affordability check:
- Information you enter into the check: details about your situation and finances, which may include your income, employment, household, deposit or savings, current mortgage details, property value, outgoings and credit commitments.
- Contact details: your name, email address and, where you provide it, your phone number and postcode, for example so we can email you a copy of your results or pass your enquiry to a broker you select.
- Technical and usage data: information collected automatically when you use the site, such as your device, browser, IP address and how you interact with the pages, including through cookies (see our Cookies Policy).
We do not ask for, and you should not enter, your bank account details, card details, passwords, or your full date of birth. Homecue does not run a credit check.
3. How and why we use your information
We use your information for the purposes set out below. The lawful basis we rely on under UK GDPR is shown alongside each.
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| To provide the affordability check and show you your indicative results | Our legitimate interests (to operate the service you have asked to use) |
| To email you a copy of your results, if you ask us to | Consent |
| To introduce you, and pass your details, to a mortgage broker you choose | Consent |
| To maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the service, and to understand how it is used | Our legitimate interests (to run and improve a safe, useful service) |
| To meet our legal and regulatory obligations and to handle complaints | Legal obligation, and our legitimate interests |
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (see section 8). Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your rights and you can object (see section 8).
4. Who we share your information with
We share your information only as described here, and we never sell it.
- The broker you choose. If you decide to be introduced to a mortgage broker from our panel, we pass the details you have entered, together with your contact details, to that broker only. We do not share your details with any broker unless you have chosen them. Once your details are passed to a broker, that broker becomes a separate data controller and will handle your data under its own privacy notice (see section 5).
- Our service providers (processors). Trusted suppliers who help us run the service, for example our hosting and database provider and our email provider, acting on our instructions under contract and only as needed to provide the service.
- Where required by law. If we are legally required to, for example to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. The broker's role
Homecue is an introducer. We do not provide regulated mortgage advice. When you choose a broker and we introduce you, the broker is responsible, as a separate data controller, for the regulated advice it gives and for how it handles your data from that point. We receive a fee from the broker for the introduction. We recommend you read the broker's own privacy notice.
6. International transfers
We aim to keep your data within the UK or the European Economic Area. Where a service provider processes data outside the UK, we put appropriate safeguards in place (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations) so your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, including to provide your results, to make and evidence an introduction, to meet legal and regulatory obligations, and to handle any complaint. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so unless we are required to keep it (see section 8).
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification);
- ask us to delete your data (erasure), in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data;
- ask us to transfer your data to you or another provider (portability), where applicable;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these, contact privacy@homecue.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would welcome the chance to resolve any concern first.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies. Please see our Cookies Policy for details and how to manage them.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and we limit access to those who need it. No online service can be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe.
11. Children
Homecue is intended for adults aged 18 or over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date above and, where changes are significant, take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
